Driving 2016 Rio Olympics SEO for NBC Olympics

Charged with leading NBC Olympics’ digital search strategy, our team engaged in its biggest challenge to date. A team of 200 writers and 150 video producers had to be trained in the ramp up. Other obstacles included defining a massive keyword portfolio, performing pertinent research and analyzing the crawl data. Then, we had to implement a system to support the entire media distribution, with the goal of gaining maximum exposure. This involved video, long and short stories, social media, syndication and touching every social network on the planet. The result? Over 200 million viewers.

JD was ready for a shift in the way they did business. Moving from analog to digital systems required our teams to meet hundreds of times, and even more sketching and whiteboard sessions. We collaborated with the BJ’s IT and Marketing teams to design a mobile-first interface that would seamlessly handle the

The custom bat website is intuitive. You start by picking the model you like. Then, you run through a checklist of bat components—barrel, end cap, handle, grip, graphics, etc.—picking the color you want for each. You can insert a logo or custom text onto both the end cap and the knob. It’s a simple, fun process, and you can easily kill an hour or two bringing different design ideas to life.

Red Roof Inn and its sister brand needed a responsive and functional design for the face of their booking engine and mobile app. The new UX needed to functionally drive the goal of booking, while enriching the users experience with ease. Everyone needs to pack something!

Our solution was a CartonSmart “Hub”, a responsive web application that tapped all of the social media APIs and aggregated the feeds into one, flexible and modular UI. For the channels and tactics without an API, we created a custom CMS allowing the brand and some chosen manufacturers to easily manage that content. For streamlining, we developed a social keyword and hashtag strategy to be used across all campaign teams. Within two weeks, the Hub was seamlessly pulling together the entire campaign. Now, the brand can course correct if needed and report real successes back to the stakeholders.

Reporting for user success

During an engagement with a division of BMS, Bridgework, we were engaged to develp a dashboard system to meet the needs of their product. Through a short Design thinking bootcamp that was run for the team, we began to empower the in-house team with the tools to work alongside us. This gave them to opportunity to share ideas, perform objective discovery, and present finding from field users after performing their own research. The resulting dashboard exceeded the needs of the client and set the course for the in-house team to perform additional design thinking exercises with other groups.
